Quick Predictions

I didn't think the Cardinals would make it past the first round.. and I was positive they wouldn't make it past the Mets...  so basically any prediction I have is almost sure to be wrong...  With that said, I still think the Cardinals were the worst team to make the playoffs this year and think they will lose in the World Series.  I think it will be the 3rd World Series in a row to feature a sweep of a National League team.  Like most of the talking heads on T.V. I'm not giving the Cardinals much of a shot to beat the Tigers.  They could win one and it wouldn't surprise me, but if they take it to 6 or even 7 games I'll be border line shocked.

I sort of want to root for the Cardinals just because they are a National League team and I'm a National League kind of guy...  but I'm not going to root for the Cardinals...  I just can't bring myself to rooting for a NL Central team that isn't the Astros...  So Go Tigers!

Biggio is still without a contract...  don't look for that to last much longer.  I'm guessing a 1 year contract for 4 million.

Go 'Stros!

I was at work yesterday and this guy comes in wearing all his Cardinal stuff and I thought to myself "Boy he's gonna be pissed in 4 games". And then I thought "Wonder if this is the first time he wore that stuff, boy it looks new.****** fair weather fans." :) Then I thought to myself "Wow 2 thoughts in one day, thats amazing"

I was gonna say Tigers in 4 games but that got screwed up so now I think Tigers in 5. But who knows anytime you have Pujols in the lineup there is a chance you can score atleast 3 runs.

I'm kind of mixed, I want the Tigers to win because they have been so bad the last few years and also because they aren't the Cardinals. But then again I want all those jerks who have jobs talking about baseball to stop talking **** about the National league.

Thats my .02 cents.... I just gave you my savings :(

well i agree with you about the jerks talking ****.i heard on the radio espn i think.early this year that if this was a boxing match the n.l.would have been k.o. or thrown in the towel.well i'm here to tell you don't be mixed don't you remember what the tigers did to the stros.besides the whole pine tar on the hand did give the sport a huge blackeye, and the best that jerk marquez(the guy that missed the pick off at first in atlanta)could say was please wash your ********** the coaches on my 7 year old's team are harder then that. what a freaking joke, somebody up there in mlb wants the tigers to win,but don't look now the cards are playing like the cards and the tigers are playing like well the tigers go stros and welcome all you fair weather fans it's more fun with you guy's cause it makes the rest of us feel like we know a thing or two aboutr the sport.

The Cards sure did squash your "sweep" talk.

Just out of curiosity, what are your thoughts on the WS now?

mmarty, I'm pretty surprised the Cards have won 2 out of 3.. Now they just have to win 2 out of 5.. This series is far from over and I still think the Tigers are the better team and will win the WS. But what I think doesn't matter and how the Cards are playing they could possibly win in 5.. who knows.. Like the saying goes, that's why they play the game. I'm still rooting against the Cardinals for my reasons above, but if the Cardinals do win, I'm not going to cry in my pillow..

Juice(Hugo right?), it's pretty obvious to most that the NL is definitely the weaker league.. and the NL has also been swept in the last two world series.. so the TV talking heads saying that the AL would KO the NL doesn't surprise me. Don't be so quick to count out the Tigers.. they didn't have one of the best records in baseball by being a bad team.

well that's right, but if i remember all the attention they were getting, the talking heads would sometimes say that they were realy only dominant vs bad teams i.e.the devil rays(which reminds me why haven't we gone after carl crawford)i think he would be a good fit here.anyway back to what i was sayimg the tigers came on strong against the yanks and the a's so maybe they are out of gas.at the end of the day netheir team in the series is the astros so who really cares anyway.one thing i do care about is that both new york teams are out.the t.v. people were with a week left in the season were pencil whiping a subway series.nothing against the 2 teans, but next time just shut the **** up and play the games.and lastly this is the way we should have played last year we were a better team, but the stros let the media dictate how they played the game.i would have taken 2-1 anyday with the way backe pitched game 4.man i hope that doesn't hang around a long time like it did in boston.i want the home team to bring home the big trophy while my kids are still little and i'm still alive.go stros

I'm sure the Astros would love to have Crawford... but I think the bidding will be to way too high for him.. I'm sure they will at least put a bid in for him, but the Yankee's or Red Sox will probably be the team to lure him in.

well that's everything that's wrong with this game. they throw money around like it's minumum wage or something.and the players act like they can't live on 10 mil so let's go to new york and make 20 mil are you kidding me.that's the reason i hate the yankees what ever happened to playing for simple love of the game.i mean if i was as good as some of these players i would be happier than a pig in mud making one mil per year.cause in the real world that's still alot of **** money.

I'm kind of confused now about the Cards. I thought they were a great team last year. This year I thought they were ok but had no chance, where last year I thought they were going all the way. The one team in the playoffs that I didn't think had a shot is now turning it on. Kudos to the cards. I'm still saying the Tigers in 6 now. I might be saying the Tigers in 7 soon though. They don't play 8 games do they? :)

P.S. when you build new stadiums these days why don't you put a fricking roof on it! Guess we are just spoiled in Houston because of our crazy humidity and hot weather we never have games rained out, cept in the Astrodome when it floods :)
