Congrats to the Cardinals
First off let me say that IE7 *****! I don't normally use it, but for some reason I was now... had a long nice post and decided to insert and image and whamo.. message gone.
Just wanted to say congrats to the Cardinals for their total domination of the Tigers. I said all along that I thought the Cardinals were the worst team in the playoffs, but they have shown everyone that it doesn't matter how bad or good you were in the regular season... once the playoffs starts, the slate is clean. Weaver was totally outstanding. 8 innings of 4 hit 2 run ball against the Tigers... nice job.
Even though I didn't want the Cardinals to win and didn't think they would win... Them winning isn't all that bad. Them winning stops the streak of National league teams not only losing in the World Series... but being swept out of the World series. The Cardinals who were swept by the Red Sox 2 years ago get some paybacks this year by putting it to the Tigers. Good for the NL. It's also good that the "worst division in baseball" took the World Series from the "best division in baseball." And the best part of this all (for me)? The end of the World Series means free agency starts sooner. 15 days after today FA will start and the Astros can start trying to make some moves to bolster the ranks of a poor hitting club.
So once again, congrats to the Cards, the 2006 World Series Champions. Boy do I hate you. I'm sure Fox is happy that they can now air something that will actualy get decent ratings.

Well seeing as there is no game 8, I have to admit that I was wrong about the Cards. They played better than I thought they would, and that along w/ some costly errors by the Tigers makes them the team to beat in '07. I must say though, the goggles in the celebrations at the end makes me wonder how they were able to man up and beat the Tigers! I mean come on!! It's just champagne!! Were they afraid they were going to go blind? The 'stros wouldn't have used goggles!! But then again the 'stros wouldn't have beat the Tigers so....
Good job Cards! Even though I doubted them, they came through when it actually mattered. Now maybe the media can stop talking about the **** Yankees for a couple of days and give the National League some props!

Not even 2 minutes after the Cards won, one of the announcers mentioned the Yankees..
I think everyone pretty much does the goggles thing now.. I think it's stupid.. but it wouldn't surprise me if some Astros did it to.
