When is enough.. enough?

Brad Lidge for the 400th time this season, came in during the 9th inning with a 1 run lead.. and what happens?  You guessed it..  Fastball down the middle, gone, line drive, no doubter, tie game.

Borkowski, Springer or Wheeler should take over closing duties for the Astros for an undisclosed amount of time until Brad Lidge can get his head on straight and stop giving up home runs... It's amazing he only has 4 blown saves this year.. seems like he already has at least 20.  He's been giving up over a run every other inning.. for a closer, that is freaking terrible.

well Borkowski was frickin awesome tonight and i'm pissed because it's almost 1am and I stayed up to watch the stro's time and time again not be able to get a **** hit with less than 2 outs with runners in scoring position!! I'm the most pissed about Huff's at bat where he has bases loaded w/ 1 out and the first 2 pitches are in the dirt and the next pitch he is swinging. Yah it was a solid struck ball and it was a strike but TAKE A **** PITCH!!!! A walk is a 100% chance of a run! He throws you a strike then you are looking on the next pitch, if he throws you 2 strikes in a row then you are swinging on the 2nd not the first :( Burke was awesome, Lane, Ensberg, Berkman all ******. Very rarely will I be down on Berkman but he struke out 2x's in extra innings w/ runners on! Ah well another game in like 15 hours hopefully we won't be like the Cardinals and get swept by a crappy team!

I went to bed sometime during the 14th inning.. not exactly sure when. I had the TV on in the bedroom with the TV on a sleep timer for 20 minutes, and I don't remember it going off.. It's amazing how the Astros could do so great in one inning with runners on, and then completely **** with runners on in other parts of the game.. They had runners on first and 2nd with no outs and failed to do jack with it. If we can't beat the cubs at least 2 out of 3, then we have no business in the post season.

Six months ago, in an email to astros.com writer Alyson Footer (which she posted on her mailbag), I said Brad Lidge was not the answer for the closer's duties. She figured I was being too harsh. In her next mailbag, another fan ripped me for my comments and called me a "whiner", then Alyson referred to my comments as "silly". In a letter I wrote last week to the Houston Chronicle sports section, I reiterated my comments. I then said Lidge should pack his bags and head to Lexington, but before he did, he needed to apologize to his teammates, the organization, and the fans for being such an embarrassment to the organization. He let us all down more times than I care to admit. I then closed with the words "Brad, you are a joke, and you need to go". Guess what folks? I WAS RIGHT: Brad Lidge is not the answer. So, Alyson, what do you have to say for yourself?
