Munson Sent Down, House Called Up

After Sundays 3-1 win over the Brewers, the Astros have designated Eric Munson for assignment(assuming he accepts) and called up sure hitting catcher J.R. House from Triple A Round Rock.  After Giving Munson 3 straight games to show some offensive production, he was sent down after posting a .204 batting average with 5 long balls and 19 RBI's for the year.  J.R. House in Triple A this year has put up good numbers in his 82 AB's posting a .438 average with 3 homers and 26 RBI's.

From what I've read/heard, House isn't the best behind the plate, spending a lot of time at first base for the Express.  I don't think the Astros really feel he can be a big league catcher, but being they are in such a need for offense right now, they don't have much of a choice.  I doubt House will get a start tonight with Andy Pettitte on the hill, but I'd bet he gets the start tomorrow when Hirsh goes(I think it's Hirsh) and if not then, he'll probably get the start when Wandy pitches again.  I'd like to see him on the mound tonight though.  Look for House to get a late game pinch hit chance tonight.

The Astros start a 3 game series tonight against the Wild Card leading Reds(who sit 5 games ahead of the Astros) at 6:05 pm.  Roy-O seems to be coming off his bruised right wrist injury and will probably start the last game in the series against the Reds.
