Astros Get a Little Revenge
A day after getting brutally destroyed by the Cincinnati Reds, the Astros brought the sticks today... and the guns. Roy-O went 6 strong innings giving up 2 runs(in the first inning) and 5 hits, and sent 7 Reds back to the dugout w/out a chance to run to first(also known as a strike out).
Garner sent a different lineup to the field today with Berkman playing left field, just recently called up JR House playing 1st base, Lane in Right field, Burke playing 2nd and Ensberg at 3rd(Morgan went 0-4 with a walk and run scored). Huff was riding the pine until his pinch hit appearance for House in the 7th where he drove in two runs. Huff then played first base for the remainder of the game.
Willy T passed Jeff Kent for the Astros record consecutive hit streak going 1-4 with a walk. He's sitting at 26 straight games with a hit. Burke and Everett both went 3 for 5, Burke with an RBI and Everett with his 4th homer of the season, 2 RBI's and a run scored.
House didn't do so well in his first start of the season, going 0 for 3 and leaving 3 runners on base. Lane went 1 for 3 with 2 walks.
The Astros now sit 6 games behind the Reds in the National League Wild Card Race.

Other Notes
Last night after the game, Jason Hirsh was not available for the media. I'm assuming he was embarrassed and didn't feel like answering all of the questions, so he skipped out. In result he was talked to by Purpura, Garner and his team mates as well as fined. He apologized today to everyone.
Chris Sampson was called up for his 3rd stint in the majors..

I heard about Sampson being called up today from his mom, whom I work with. When I heard it, I kind of assumed that Hirsh was probably sent back down to clear a roster spot for him, but then I got online and saw that Nieve was placed on the DL. What do you think they should do with Hirsh? He has not performed well at this level at all! I kind of feel bad for him about the whole media thing yesterday- he had to be feeling pretty horrible already, and I don't blame him for not wanting to talk to the media. I didn't realize it was such a big deal that they had to, but I guess I can kind of see it.

I think they should send Hirsh back down.. his confidence is completely shot as you can tell from his actions yesterday... if they give him another start, and he's not confident, he'll probably get killed again and that will really hurt his confidence. Give Sampson a shot.. he's done pretty well in his limited chances so far this season.
