The World Cup : US vs Italy
So my best friend Jeff comes in to town from San Antonio (to Houston) yesterday. He like me isn't the biggest soccer or World Cup fan in general, but it was the United States in an Olympic type atmosphere so we were at least mildly interested. My twin brother Tim was
over as well who knows quite a bit more than I do about soccer and the World cup(he works with some people that are huge soccer fans). Anyways.. The US tied Italy 1-1 on a centering past which one of the Italian players tried to deflect away from the net but accidental put it in himself. The game was mildly entertaining... mainly due to Tim, Jeff and myself making fun of the players(mainly the Italian players). What's the deal with the stretcher... a guy gets kicked in the butt basically giving him a stinger, and he goes out on the stretcher! Less than 5 minutes later he's coming back on the field. If I'm playing a sport, and I get hurt... I'm going to do everything I can not to get taken out on a stretcher... I'm going to walk it off if it's just a stinger and if I really do need a stretcher, you can bet your tail that I need to go to the hospital or that I have a broken leg. Anything less than that and I'm walking off the field. I think there's more diving in soccer than in the women's Olympic diving contest. Every time someone gets touched they go down "in agony." Maybe I'm just the fair weather American, but it seemed like they Italians were way worse in the diving area than the US team. They also have this amazing spray that evidently if you get kicked in the butt, and they spray it on you... it makes you able to walk. AMAZING! :)
Big ups to McBride of the US team... in typical hockey player fashion, he gets elbowed in the face, blood streaming down his face and amazingly enough, he walks off the field with out the use of a stretcher... See that Italians? He was back in the game shortly after getting a band-aid under the eye to stop the bleeding. This concludes my soccer watching experience for the year(probably). If I get to see the US play Ghana there's a chance that I would watch it... but I probably wont since it's on Thursday at 10:00 am EST... and like most normal people... I'll be working.

Happy Father's Day! Stole one of your photos (so did Space Race, lol).
