Astros Over Braves 14-4

A day after barely bumping out 2 runs against the Atlanta Braves, the Astros put up 14 runs, starting off the game with 4 runs against Braves starter Horacio Ramirez in the 1st.  It was all down hill from there for the Astros putting up 3 in the 2nd, 2 in the 3rd and then a 5 spot in the 6th.  The Braves did hit 3 bombs, but unfortunately for them, all were solo shots(back to back jacks in the 2nd by Chipper Jones and Jeff Francoeur).  All of the Astros starters reached base with a hit in the game(yes, even the pitcher).  You know things are going well for your team when the 6 and 7 hitters(Lane and Munson) drop 5 and 4 RBI's.  Munson hit a tape measure shot into the upper decks in the 6th inning with 2 men on that left the television screen.  It was a great game as an Astros fan and nice to see some "explosive hitting" after a game with an abysmal offensive performance like yesterday. 

The Astros head off to Wrigley Field to take on the Chicago Cubs Tuesday at 7:05 pm.  Pettitte takes the mound against the Cubs south-paw Sean Marshall.

Other notes: Chris Burke left today's game after being beaned in the left elbow and is listed day-to-day.  Ensberg is still feeling the effects of a bruised shoulder from Friday's game. He's still listed day-to-day but could possibly be in the lineup as early as Tuesday.

Roy-O is scheduled to come of the disabled list and start Wednesday against the Cubs. This means the Astros are 1 starting pitcher too many and it looks like Chris Sampson is the odd man out.

Lance Berkman missed Saturdays game do to personal reasons.. Pretty good reason if you ask me. His wife Cara Berkman gave birth to a baby girl, Katie Mae Berkman, who weighed in at 7 pounds, 1 ounce. She is Cara and Lance Berkman's third daughter.  Feel sorry for Lance!  Outnumbered 4 to 1 in the house!  Wonder if he'll keep trying until he has a boy...
