Andy Pettitte : The Season Turns Around
Oh Magic 8-ball.. is this the game where Andy turns his season around? That's good news! Pettitte through his first 13 starts hasn't been real Pettitte-like. Currently he's sitting on a 4-7 record with an ERA just over 6. The highest ERA he's ever had for an entire season is a 4.70 in 99 where he went 14-11 with the Yankees. A 6.03 is an ERA that gets most pitchers some time in the minors. The last few season's he's been dealing with injuries, not feeling 100%. This year he says he feels great, no injury problems and coming off the best season of his career(stat wise). I didn't expect him to have
another season like last season, but I don't think anyone expected Andy to have a 6+ ERA through the first 13 games.
Hopefully tonight the tables turn. Pettitte and the Astros face John Thomson and the Braves. The Astros and Braves are both sitting at a 29-31 record. Boy would it be nice to win this 4 game series from them. A sweep would be even better. The Astros are currently sitting on back to back wins.. One more win, and you've got what's called a winning streak.
Go 'Stros!

Thomas,
I'm calling it a winning streak now! For us, two games, well, at this point... A STREAK.
I hope your magic 8 ball is correct and tonight is Andy's night to lower that very un-Pettitte-like ERA (I think what you said is very telling: that his previous season high is 4.70 in 1999. I think that just goes to show that he'll get it turned around soon.). I'm optimistic!
